Course Description

Transition metal chemistry, structural and bonding interpretation of magnetic and spectral properties of transition metal compounds (ligand field theory), stability of transition metal complexes, reaction mechanisms of complexes, polynuclear complexes, coordination compounds as industrial homogeneous catalysts, naturally occurring transition metal complexes, importance of complexes in environment, importance of complexes in biological systems, chemistry of organometallic compounds.
